WASH and climate: policy and financing disconnects in Bangladesh

Climate change, and access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), are interconnected issues. Measures to improve access to WASH, and those to tackle the impacts of climate change, must have a working synergy in Bangladesh.

But this report, developed as a joint initiative by the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and WaterAid Bangladesh, highlights the various gaps between policy and finance in the country's WASH and climate sectors.

To highlight the various disconnects, WaterAid and ICCCAD provide insights on how to:

• Create and implement climate-resilient WASH policies
• Ensure inclusive management of water resources and infrastructure
• Properly allocate and use funds for sustainable WASH services
